Autry Lowell Howard
May 31, 1941 - August 11, 2021

Autry “Lowell” Howard, a patriotic American, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia on May 31, 1941, he was the son of the late Clarence Howard and Freddie Lou Moreland Howard of Mableton, GA. Lowell proudly served his country for eight years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War on the USS Coral Sea and the USS Constellation. He retired from Northwest Airlines (Delta) after 30 years as a jet engine mechanic. Most of all Lowell enjoyed precious time with his wife, Martha, Phoebe his dog and his family. He also enjoyed restoring antique cars, working on his display of steam engine Lionel model trains and mowing the lawn. Lowell is a member of Lakewood Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son-in-law, Carmen Holloway; and his brother-in-law, Douglas E. Darlow, Sr. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years Martha Howard; and his children, Traci Holloway, Chris and Tracey Howard, Leigh Fowler; grandchildren, Kristen Howard, Justin Fowler, Ashley and Brandon Connolly, Kayla and Matt Lee, Meghan Fowler and Richard Holloway; six great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Marcia Darlow.

The family would also like to thank the staff of Pruitt Health Hospice for the dedication to helping care for Lowell during his illness.

A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, August 13, 2021 at Lakewood Baptist Church in Gainesville, GA with Dr. Tom Smiley, Dr. Tyler Smiley, Rev. Don Ormsbee and Rev. Jerry Gill officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Lowell will be laid to rest at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia at a later date.
