Claude P Sansom passed away Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.  Claude was born April 19, 1923, in Gadsden.  He graduated from Auburn University in 1948.  He started work with Southern Airways in Gadsden in 1951.  He was station manger for the airline in Vicksburg, MS and Birmingham before moving to Dothan in 1965.  He worked for what became Republic Airlines until he retired in April 1985.  He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sammy Cleveland Sansom; four sons and daughters-in-law and grandchildren.  A memorial service will be held at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, April 5, 2009, at 3 pm with Dr. Johnny Fain and the Rev. Bob Gross officiating.  Ward Wilson Memorial Hill Funeral Home, Cemetery and Crematory.
