Obituary

Donald Taylor Sanland passed April 6, 2021 of injuries received from a fall.

Don was hired by Southern Airways, February 6, 1962, and retired Feb 1, 2004.   During His career, he flew the DC-3, M-404, DC-9, and the DC-10 with Southern Airways, Republic Airlines, and Northwest Airlines.  Don flew helicopters with the Army National Guard and retired with the rank of Captain with 20 years of service.

Following retirement, Don's avocations included restoring classic automobiles, piloting his own Aeronca Champ, serving as a handyman to his friends and neighbors by helping them maintain their homes, automobiles, appliances, and any other mechanical device that required repair. Don was a self-made man and was successful at all he attempted. He was an accomplished electrician, plumber, mechanic, and carpenter.

He was very generous and aided many others in their efforts to acquire education or skills to compete in the work and social world.  He fed the hungry and aided the homeless.

Don attended of New Hope Baptist Church, Fayetteville, GA. where services will be held April 10, at 11:00 am
He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
