Mr. Donald Akin Wallace, age 74, of Douglasville, GA passed away Monday, November 14, 2016. He was born on June 14, 1942 in Murry, KY. Mr. Wallace proudly served in the United States Air Force. He later retired from Northwest Airlines. He enjoyed traveling, especially in motor homes and playing golf. Donald was very good with his hands, building an airplane, restoring several European antique cars and woodworking. Preceding him in death are his parents, Ralph and Ruth Wallace. Surviving him is his wife Rebecca Wallace; daughters and sons-in-laws Laura and Vincent Bass and Carolyn and Brian Kilby; brothers and sisters-in-laws Robert and Martha Wallace, David and LuAnn Wallace and Carey and Cheryl Wallace; uncle Lynn Wallace; grandchildren Callie Bass, Wallace Bass, Dax Kilby and Brooks Kilby as well as numerous other nephews, nieces and other family members. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donald’s honor to the American Heart Association, 1101 Northchase Parkway Suite 1, Marietta, GA 30067, www.americanheart.org The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 1 until 2 o’clock pm.
