Gary, 54, of Alcoa, TN, went home to be with the Lord peacefully Saturday, August 14, 2010. He died at home after battling a long illness with his wife by his side. He was preceded in death by parents Alfred and Louetta Malone. Gary was a faithful member and deacon at Bethlehem Start Missionary Baptist Church where he worked to serve the Lord whenever he was needed.  Gary graduated from Aloca High School in the Class of 1973. He continued his studies at Berea College in KY. Gary was a loyal employee with Northwest/Delta Air Lines serving in the capacity of Supervisor with 32 years of service. Gary will always be remembered for his wonderful laughter and open heart.  He is survived by his loyal and faithful wife of 33 years Goldia "Becky" Malone; devoted mother-in-law, Mabel Davis; supportive aunts, Helen Trent and Pauline (Limon) Bacon all of Knoxville; uncle, Lee (Vivian) Varner; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and godchildren which he cherished as his own.  He will always be affectionately known as "Uncle G."  Special thanks to Covenant Health Hospice for their compassion and support during this difficult time.  Family will receive friends at Unity Mortuary Chapel on Friday, August 20, 2010 at 11:00-11:30 am with funeral services to follow with Reverend Christopher Snow officiating.  Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.  Services to conclude with a full dove release. Arrangements by Unity Mortuary. Mr. Malone's guestbook can be signed on-line at www.unitymortunary.com.
