Obituary
John Morris Vaughn, 85, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
John was born in Douglasville, Georgia on November 7, 1938, the son of the late John Cable Vaughn and Reba Clestelle Morris. He loved the outdoors and the adventure of motorcycling, hang gliding, speedboats and scuba diving. John spent some of his time restoring old cars and working in his garden. He was a compassionate man that enjoyed the company of others while making a difference in their lives. John found it especially rewarding being busy with Meals On Wheels.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Brown Vaughn, sons and daughter-in-law, John Steven “Steve” and Patricia Vaughn, Michael Keith Vaughn; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard Luke Vaughn (Bonnie), Michael Wayne Vaughn (Brenda), Stephen Edwin Vaughn (Laura); sister and brother-in-law, Donna Marie and George Hill; grandchildren, Travis, Cassey, Corey, Jessica and ten great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, John and Reba Vaughn, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Marcia Lynn Vaughn and brothers, William Charles Vaughn and Kenneth Edward Vaughn.
A visitation for John has been scheduled on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM at Whitley Garner Funeral Home.
