Joye Dean Ferrill, age 77, of Poplarville, Mississippi, passed away on April 24, 2018, peacefully at Canon Hospice in Gulfport.

Joye was born on February 19, 1941, to Raymond “Preach” Watts Dean and Ila Belle Henderson Dean. She was raised in the Laurens County section of Whitmire, South Carolina. After graduating from the University of South Carolina, she went to work as a flight attendant for Southern Airways. Through mergers, she retired from Northwest Airlines after 39 years of flying.

Joye is survived by her daughters, Julie (Walter) Zwies and Jennifer (Michael) Seal, and her grandchildren, Charlie Zwies, Jessica Zwies, and Raleigh Seal.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Joseph Hilton Ferrill; her son, John Hilton Ferrill; and sisters, Louise Dean Ellis and Betty Dean Suber.

Funeral services will be at Crane Creek Baptist Church on Thursday, April 26, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends and family from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens; Poplarville, Mississippi.
