Leonard  B. Paslay
July 24, 1949 - May 25, 2015

Leonard B. (Chip) Paslay, 65, went to be with the Lord on May 25, 2015. He is survived by his sister, Judy Ann Birkholz (Ray), and his brother, Burney Paslay (Nancy). He also leaves behind a grandson, Carter Paslay. He was preceded by his wife, Carolyn Smith Paslay, and son, Leonard Bruce “Chuck” Paslay III. Chip spent his entire life in Memphis serving his family, friends and city. Chip overcame the loss of his wife, Carolyn Smith who died suddenly leaving their 8-year-old son, Chuck, for Chip to raise. Chip entered Chuck’s world in the capacity of Soccer Coach, Sunday school teacher and Boy Scout Leader and Officer, which he continued serving until recently. Chip also became a Mason in the mid 1970’s and continued serving until death, reaching their highest potential in the state of TN. Chip was a strong believer in Jesus Christ who he credited his ability to overcome adversity in his life, even in the loss of his only son, Chuck, to a premature death. Chip’s friendship, sense of humor and dedication will be remembered and cherished. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 31, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. The Service will be Monday, June 1 at 11:30 a.m.
