Captain Roger Beldt died peacefully in his home on Saturday, July 15, 2012 after a long illness. Services were July 18 at the Destin, Florida United Methodist Church. Roger was a graduate of the University of Florida and Emory University School of Dentistry. He was an accomplished pharmacist, dentist and spent most of his life working as a commercial airline pilot for Southern Airways, Republic, and most recently for Northwest Airlines/Delta.  He as a member of Destin United Methodist Church. Roger was born in Freeport, IL. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Gisele; one daughter, one son, and a brother. Roger's true love was flying. He wanted to fly forever and a day. We can now say he is well on his way ... flying west.
