Obituary​

Roy Dale Smith, age 79, of Smyrna, passed away Wednesday, July 17th.  A graveside service will be held 1 PM C.S.T. Friday, July 19th at Hebron United Methodist Church Cemetery in Centre, AL.  Mr. Smith had been resident of Smyrna for 49 years.  He was employed as an Aviation Inspector in the Engine Shop at Northwest Airlines before retiring.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #160 and the Moose Club.  Surviving are: Wife - Lois Virginia Smith of Smyrna, 2 sons - Gary Ronald Smith (Debbie) of Stockbridge, Tony Gerald Smith (Janet) of Canton, 2 daughters - Virginia Dale Helfert (Jim) of Cedartown, Glenda Gale Smith of Pasadena, CA, Sister - Jane Noggle of Marietta, 5 Grandsons, 1 Great Granddaughter.  The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 18th at Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna (770-435-4467.  www.carmichaelfuneralhomes.com) Published in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on July 18, 2013.
