Ruth Elaine Christmas - TWIN CITY - Memorial services for Ruth Elaine Christmas, 69, of Twin City will be announced and held at a later date at the Twin City Cemetery. She died Friday, April 29, 2016 in Marietta. Mrs. Ruth Elaine Christmas, was born in Jesup to Ruby Louise Whetsell and the late John E. Whetsell. She was a 1963 graduate of Emanuel county institute and a 1967 graduate of Georgia Southern. Whetsell recently retired from Delta Airlines after 40 years. She had a beautiful smile and contagious laugh, and she was always willing to help anyone who needed her. Whetsell was loved by so many, and she loved and worked so hard for her Lord. She will be missed by so many. Christmas was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Parker and Ruby Kicklighter of Glennville, and a niece Jody Ann Whetsell, and a sister, Ruby Laraine Whetsell. Survivors include her mother, Ruby Louise Whetsell of Twin City; brother, John Wayne Whetsell of Twin City; two nephews, John E. Whetsell II and John Wayne Whetsell Jr. of Twin City.
