Dedicated to Friends, Past and Present
Obituary
Virginia “Carol” Garland, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, entered into eternal rest on September 5, 2025. She was born September 1, 1942, to the late Frances Smith and William Herman Smith.
Carol is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Frank Garland; her nieces, Ann (Joel) Rakestraw and Lynn (Andrea) White; great-niece Brittany Stansel; great-nephews Bryan (Hannah) Stansel and Braydon Stansel; great-great-nephews Gavin, Gabe, and Porter Stansel; and great-great-nieces Liylah Miller and Stevie Stansel.
Carol retired from Delta Airlines after more than 40 years of dedicated service. She was known for her joyful spirit and her gift of conversation—she loved to talk and laugh with everyone she met. Her happiest moments were spent working crosswords and puzzles, traveling, being in the mountains, visiting with family, and collecting little treasures that brought her joy.
She was deeply spiritual in her faith, living her life with kindness, love, and a heart for others. To know Carol was to be loved by her. Her sweet and gentle heart touched the lives of everyone around her, and her presence brought warmth and comfort wherever she went.
Carol will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 12:00 noon, with Rev. Frank Garland officiating.
Dacula Church of God, 486 Tanner Rd, Dacula, GA 30019.
